· Healing in regards to the past: the difficulties of the colonial nation
· The ongoing warfare
o Hostilities to cease
o Illegal militias to be disarmed (including the famous LRA, now almost exclusively in the DRC)
o Ability of those who have fled (approx. 1.7 million people) to be able to return home
· The corrupt politics
· Bribery in the general community, including for university children
· Economic prosperity / recovery
· Illnesses
o HIV / AIDS
o Malaria
o Hospitals extremely understaffed, and without medication
· Street children
· Muslim population
· Pygmy people group to be treated with respect as real people, especially by those who are part of the body of Christ
· Hope churches
· Abandonment of syncretistic practices, both for the church in DRC as a whole and in the lives of individual Christians
· Nominal Christians (approx. 90% of the population claim to be Christian, so there are many nominal Christians, including in illegal armed groups)
· For the church local and international to step up and make a difference for the social needs of this nation
· Missionaries, both within DRC and internationally, to be willing to go forth and sow the seeds of the gospel, in spite of the violence. Let there be many willing to literally lay down their lives for the sake of the gospel
· Bible translation: there are over 215 languages, with at least 274 dialects, not all of which have a bible. At least 94 have no Bible, another 29 are works in progress. Not only so, but literacy skills are low. Pray for both reading programs, Bible translation, and audio resources
